iPhone 18 and iPhone Duo App Store Screenshot Sizes (September 2026 Update)

Quick answer: The iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max did not add a new screenshot size. Apple slots them into the existing 6.3-inch (1206 x 2622) and 6.9-inch (1320 x 2868) display classes, so the 6.9-inch set you already upload still covers them. The genuinely new thing is iPhone Duo: Apple's spec now lists 1398 x 2034 for the outer display and 2007 x 2853 for the inner display, but App Store Connect can't accept Duo uploads yet. Apple says support arrives "later this year."

Apple updated the App Store Connect screenshot specifications the afternoon of September 9, 2026, a few hours after the event. I went through the new page line by line because our sizes guide gets a lot of "is this still current?" traffic every September. Short version: if you shipped screenshots last year, you're fine for iPhone 18. The Duo rows are the part worth reading.

What the iPhone 18 Pro changed (nothing, for screenshots)

Both new Pro phones keep last year's panels. The 18 Pro is 6.3 inches at 1206 x 2622, the 18 Pro Max is 6.9 inches. Apple added them to the device lists under the existing display classes and left the accepted pixel sizes alone.

Landscape is the same numbers flipped. The 6.9-inch set is still the one Apple requires if your app runs on iPhone, and it still scales down to fill the smaller classes when you don't upload them separately. The non-Pro iPhone 18, the second iPhone Air and the 18e are scheduled for spring 2027, so there's nothing to prepare for on that front right now.

iPhone Duo: the new rows in Apple's spec

This is the first time Apple has published screenshot dimensions for a foldable. The Duo has two screens, and Apple lists them as two separate rows.

Two things I noticed. The outer display screenshot matches the panel pixel-for-pixel. The inner display screenshot does not: Apple asks for 2007 x 2853, which is larger than the 1878 x 2670 the panel physically has. Don't try to reverse-engineer that. Use the numbers on Apple's spec page when uploads open, because that's what the validator will check.

The aspect ratio is close to 0.69, noticeably squarer than a regular iPhone's 0.46. A caption layout designed for a tall 6.9-inch frame will have a lot of empty width on a Duo canvas, which is why I'd treat Duo sets as their own design job rather than a resize. Can you upload Duo screenshots today?

No. The spec page carries a note under the Duo rows: "Support for uploading assets for this device in App Store Connect will be available later this year." As of this writing (September 15) there is no Duo display type in App Store Connect and no Duo option when you send screenshots through the API.

The phone itself goes on pre-order October 16 and ships October 23, starting at $1,999. My guess is the upload option lands around the ship date, but that's a guess, not something Apple has said. Until then a Duo user browsing the App Store sees your regular iPhone screenshots.

What I'd actually do this week

1. Leave your 6.9-inch set alone unless it's stale for other reasons. iPhone 18 Pro Max users see exactly what iPhone 17 Pro Max users saw.
2. If you still only upload 6.5-inch (1284 x 2778), this is a fine excuse to regenerate at 1320 x 2868. Apple accepts either as the required set, but the 6.9-inch size renders sharper on every current Pro Max and Plus model.
3. Capture raw screenshots from your app running in the Duo simulator once Xcode's Device Hub support ships, for both the closed and open states. You'll want them ready the day uploads open.
4. Decide now whether your first Duo frame shows the phone open or closed. That's a positioning question (does your app benefit from the big screen?) and it's easier to answer before the deadline pressure.
